    DOCUMENT SIGNED BY WOODROW WILSON AS PRESIDENT APPOINTING A UNITED STATES AMBASSADOR SHORTLY AFTER DECLARING WAR ON GERMANY
    Signed five months after Wilson declared war on Germany.  Kehl (1870-1936) served as a U.S. ambassador from 1897 until his retirement in 1932.  Countersigned by Secretary of State Robert Lansing, one page, measures 23 by 19 inches, contains the fully-intact white paper seal, created in Washington, DC on September 14, 1917, and in pristine condition.
