This rare book has provided the historical foundation for hundreds of subsequent books on the Santa Fe railroad. The first edition, however, did not contain Bradley’s complete original manuscript – seven chapters dealing with some of the company’s dark receivership period were omitted.
This new special “limited edition” reunites the missing chapters with the original 1920 edition and an expanded and updated Appendix of statistics and corporate material, including photos, add to this history of the Santa Fe making it a more interesting, dramatic and well-rounded story of a railroad at its apex of expansion.
The story of the Santa Fe is one of adventure and enterprise.  Following the old Santa Fe Trail, the railroad pushed steadily onward until it added an industrial empire to the United States.
