Description
28th President. Highly uncommon personal calling card, 3.25x1.5, boldly signed"Woodrow Wilson 1922"
on verso.
The signed card was sent to Adrian Van Sinderen by former President Woodrow Wilson. The accompanying letter, typed and signed by John Randolph Bolling (he was also brother-in-law to Wilson), reads, "While Mr. Wilson finds it rather difficult to use a pen, he feels he cannot refuse his signature to a man whom he looks upon as a comrade in the great war. It gives him pleasure, therefore, to send the signature requested in your letter to him of yesterday."
After Wilson's second term ended in 1921 he retired to a home on S Street in Washington; he died in 1924
Paperclip impression, else fine.
