as member of the House of Representatives, Washington, March 11, 1838, 8x10, to a constituent in Buffalo, NY, in full:
Yours enclosing a letter to Miss Porter is received and as soon as she arrives in the city I will deliver it.  I saw Judge Stryker yesterday who said he expected them in a few days.
Nothing new except what you see in the papers.  The appointment of circuit Judge is to me a very unexpected one; But Dayton may have talents that none of us has yet discovered.
Address leaf still attached, evidently there was once a Fillmore free frank at top right because that area is excised.
Overall toning, soiling.  Newspaper clipping remnants under signature.  Top right edge with some small tears.  Affordable Fillmore handwritten example.
