    Description

Offered is this matching PAIR of fine porcelain china scenic plates with wide pink rims accented with gold filigree.
The center of each plate is decorated with a famous work by Spanish artist Bartolome Esteban Murillo, who painted his Beggar Boys series in the mid-1600s.
One plate features The Melon Eaters, while the other depicts The Dice Throwers.
The plates are marked on the back with a shield or beehive mark, which would indicate that they were made in Germany. The owner of the plates attributes them to ES Germany but we do no know the basis for that identification.
