He served as President from 1817 to 1825 and was considered to be one of the best presidents of his time. This document is also signed by John McClean acting as the Commissioner of the general land office, McClean was also a member of the U.S. House of representatives from 1813 to 1816, He was nominated to the U.S. Supreme court by President Andrew Jackson and served as the Associate Justice, he also served as the 6th Postmaster General of the United States of America.
