Martyred 35th President of the United States JOHN F. KENNEDY hand-signed letter fresh off his narrow 1952 Senate election victory. Dated November 25th, 1952 on Congressional letterhead signed by Kennedy at the conclusion. In the letter Kennedy thanks a supporter and explains how they "survived the Eisenhower landslide".
CERTIFIED AUTHENTIC BY BECKETT AUTHENTICATIONS SERVICES (BAS) EXPERT EXAMINATION. UNCONDITIONALLY GUARANTEED GENUINE. Item is encapsulated inside Beckett's sonically-sealed, tamper-evident holder.
In the 1952 Massachusetts State Senate election, Congressman John F. Kennedy ousted incumbent Republican Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. As Kennedy asserts in this letter, the task was not an easy one. On the weekend before the election, Eisenhower visited Boston and energetically campaigned for Lodge, but it was not enough. Although Eisenhower carried Massachusetts by over 200,000 votes, Kennedy narrowly upset Lodge, winning by 70,000 votes and three percentage points.
Letter has typical mailing folds, overall toning, 3 spots of staining on the centerfold. Beckett encapsulate measures approx. 12"x8.75".
