PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH - AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH CO-SIGNED BY: JOHN BOEHNER - HFSID 323268
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH and JOHN BOEHNER
Photograph of the 43rd President of the United States and the Speaker of the House at an Ohio political event, signed by each in felt tip.
Photograph signed:
"John Boehner", "G W Bush"
, Color 8½x11 framed to an overall size of 10½x13½.
GEORGE W. BUSH (b. 1946)
worked on
his father's successful 1988 presidential campaign
, before assembling the group of partners that purchased the Texas Rangers baseball franchise in 1989.
He served as
managing general partner of the Texas Rangers
until he was elected
Governor of Texas
on November 8, 1994. Bush, who became the first Governor in Texas history to be elected to consecutive four-year terms when he was re-elected in 1998, resigned on December 21, 2000, having been
elected 43rd President of the U.S.
Reelected on November 2, 2004,
Bush is the only U.S. President to be reelected after succeeding a two-term President of the opposing political party.
Bush's presidential record includes the Patriot Act and other measures to combat terrorism, his "no child left behind" education reforms, the military initiatives in Iraq and Afghanistan, and major tax cuts. Historians will debate his degree of responsibility for the economic crisis which commenced in the final year of his Presidency. Republican
JOHN BOEHNER (b. 1949)
has been
active in politics for almost 30 years, beginning with his position as an Ohio state representative in 1985.
Most notable of his political positions is his
long standing position in the House of Representatives, being elected in 1991 and serving concurrently until the present (2013).
Boehner has acted as Chairman of the House Republican Conference and Chairman of the House Committee on Education and Workforce during his time in Congress, helping to
author and eventually pass the controversial
No Child Left Behind Act
of 2001
in the latter position. Boehner has promoted mostly conservative ideals and positions, including the opposition of gay marriage, upping national security, and refusing to increase taxes, but is often criticized by other conservative republicans for his support of "small-government economic concerns".
Since 2010, the politician has served as Speaker of the House,
being the first Ohio representative to hold the position. Photograph not examined outside of framing, but appears to be in fine condition.
