Unique collection of tools in a bottle, identified on the base as the President's property, a gift received in 1937.
Handmade wooden saw, saw horse, axe and logs all assembled within a 10-inch tall clear glass bottle with a non-removable stopper. It bears the following pencil notation:
"F.D.R. I ALWAYS FINISH WHAT I START &C"
and on the base of the saw horse:
"PROPERTY OF PRESIDENT OF U.S.A. F.D. ROOSEVELT"
. One log is loose.

"in response to your inquiry
concerning miniature wooden replicas of woodcutting implements in a bottle, made by James H. Porter, with a label identifying the ensemble as 'property of President of USA FD Roosevelt.'
Records in the Archives section of the Roosevelt Library confirm that in a letter to Mr. James Hamilton Porter of Dinuba, California, dated March 8, 1937, the President's private secretary acknowledged receipt of his February 23rd letter and the gift, and conveyed to him the President's thanks and appreciation. No record was found detailing how this object came into possession of your father."

Return Policy:
If any substantial defect not described in the item listing is found by the purchaser, the item(s) must be returned within 3 days of receipt. Item(s) may not be returned except for reasons of authenticity or substantial defect in description. Buyers will be sent payment instructions following their purchase.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express & PayPal. PayPal customers must have a confirmed address on file with PayPal. Customers must provide a daytime telephone number to be used in case of any shipping difficulties.
Customers are advised that they are responsible for payment of any international duties and/or taxes.
Unless otherwise agreed to, complete payment is due within 24 hours of purchase.
Shipping
- We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges are calculated at time of payment and are dependent on the number of items purchased and the destination shipping address.
Due to the value of most purchases, a signature is required for delivery. This policy limits our ability to ship to PO Boxes.
All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx. Please feel free to contact us in advance for shipping charges - international customers are encouraged to do so.
