Description
American citizen’s may take comfort in knowing that even the President of the United States and First Lady are required to register their cars albeit without the same motor vehicle lines experienced by most drivers. Offered is the original 1940 New York State vehicle registration document signed by First Lady, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, made out for her 1937 G.M.C. Suburban. The 6 X 4 document is boldly signed by the First Lady registrant, in black fountain pen. Interestingly New York was the first state to require automobiles to have license plates in 1901, the earliest of which were handmade by the vehicle owner with their initials. A rare historical document from one of the most historic First Ladies in American presidential history.
