Description
November 1, 1830 land grant signed by US president Andrew Jackson (1767-1845) granting 79 acres of land to Charles Collier asignee of David Scott in Tuscaloosa Alabama. Land grants like these were issued to various individuals following land acquisitions obtained by the US government during the 19th and early 20th centuries. During Jackson's 2nd term in office he found the task of signing land grants too laborious and in 1833 began having them signed by his secretary. All presidential land grants after this date were secretary signed. Great authentic Andrew Jackson signature with various wear and folds. Approx 9 3/4" h x 15 1/2" w. US shipping and bidders only.
